What are your hopes and dreams for the 2004-2005 school year?
Before children can truly take ownership of their classroom and of how to take care of it and their classmates, they must first examine what it is they hope to learn and do this year. At the beginning of the school year, students shared and drew about their hopes and dreams for the 2004-2005 school year on clouds. Parents also wrote about their hopes and dreams for their first grader this year. Parents traced their hands and decorated them with words and pictures to depict their hopes for their children this year. Talking and thinking about our dreams helps us realize that we do need some rules in our classroom so that all of our dreams can come true.
